Engility Corp. holds a prime position on a potential $495 million contract to help a Defense Department program executive office manage and acquire defenses against weapons of mass destruction.

The Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense selected Engility in the four domains of engineering and technical support, business and analytical assistance, information technology and logistics, Engility said Thursday.

Seventy contractors were chosen in total for the six-domain indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract (click over to GovCon Wire for a list of awardees).

“The JPEO-CBD continues to be an important partner for Engility and we are honored to be chosen for this award,” said Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility president and CEO.

“We look forward to the opportunity to expand our support across the Department of Defense chem-biocommunity in the future,” he added.

Awards are intended to support JPEO-CBD‘s ongoing requirements for omnibus program, engineering and technical support services, Engility said.

The JPEO-CBD also is using the contract for current acquisition program activities in the Washington region, San Diego and other locations in the U.S.
