BAE Systems and the Telegraph Media Group are partnering to launch a series of discussions on the future of engineering skills in Britain.
The partnership includes roundtable discussions on whether UK is ready to meet the demand for engineering skills by 2020 and a follow-up report in the Daily Telegraph’s business section on March 14, The Online Recruitment Resource reported Wednesday.
Participants will include representatives from BAE, Siemens, JaguarLandRover, The Engineering Employers Federation, EngineeringUK, SEMTA, National Apprenticeship Service, Royal Academy of Engineering and the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering.
“Alongside other engineering companies, BAE Systems and its 7,500 suppliers in the UK are reliant on a pipeline of engineering talent and we currently face a serious skills shortage,” said Kate Watcham, head of BAE Systems UK media, according to the report.
