Concurrent Inc. has generated $4 million from its first round of venture funding, according to the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
The San Francisco-based big data startup said Palo Alto-based True Ventures and Menlo Park-based Rembrandt Venture Partners had steered the series A funding, Cromwell Schubarth writes.
Concurrent assists app developers and data scientists leverage Apache Hadoop, an open-source big data software.
The company provides solutions to different customers, including eBay and Twitter.
Meanwhile, Concurrent also promoted Gary Nakumura as CEO.
A former senior vice president at San Francisco-based Terracotta, Nakamura brings years of experience in sales, marketing and product management.
