Microsoft Names 14-Year Oracle Vet Judson Althoff CVP & President of Sales and Marketing

microsoft-logoMicrosoft has appointed Judson Althoff as corporate vice president and president of North America sales and marketing, according to a Microsoft statement.

Effective March 29, 2013, the 18-year technology veteran will will manage a team of sales, marketing and services professionals in the U.S. and Canada.
Kevin Turner, chief operating officer at Microsoft, said Judson has previously developed, grown and led sales operations around the world and his experience will help the company deliver a superior experience to customers.
Althoff serves as senior vice president of worldwide alliances and channels and embedded sales at Oracle Corp. and was previously vice president of global platform and distribution sales at the company.
According to the release, he also held lead sales roles at EMC Corp.
