Booz Allen Hamilton has joined the American Public Health Association in raising awareness about public health challenges and lifesaving solutions as part of National Public Health Week.
The company’s campaign includes the use of infographics, health analytics, cloud computing and communications aimed at helping organizations identify ways for managing the nation’s public health system, Booz Allen said Thursday.
Booz Allen made an infographic on chronic disease sand its effects on society and the economy, as well as investments the company says the country can gain from having a strong public health system.
“Booz Allen is committed to supporting increased awareness of public health challenges and the solutions that can save lives and contribute to healthier communities,” said Susan Penfield, a Booz Allen executive vice president and lead for the company’s health business.
Penfield cited as an example Booz Allen’s case study on biomedical analysis of patient records at the Sisters of Mercy Health System, which helped establish institute protocols that led to a decrease in mortality rates related to sepsis and septic shock.
She said the company also conducts health-related training for community leaders, helps improve vaccine logistics and provides digital technologies toward fostering health information exchanges and other initiatives.
