Concurrent Technologies Corp. was been selected by Military Times Edge magazine as the fourth- best company for veterans to work in the U.S., being chosen out of 53 companies on the list and out of 1,000 nominees.

The magazine also selected CTC to the “Best for Vets” list in 2011 and 2010, CTC said Wednesday.

“CTC has policies and procedures in place to recruit active duty and veteran military members,” said Ed Sheehan, president and CEO.

“Currently 18% of CTC’s workforce is veteran employees, and 23% of new hires in 2012 were veterans as well,” he said.

The scientific research and development organization participates in the U.S. Army Partnership for Youth Success Program, where CTC and the Army work together to help veterans join the civilian workforce after their service.

CTC is also is also a member of the 100,000 Jobs Mission, started in March 2011 and comprising of 99 companies aiming to hire 100,000 transitioning service members and military veterans by 2020.

As of the end of March 2013, 64,628 veterans have been hired through that program.

Peggy Cavanaugh, a CTC payroll specialist, works with veterans to transition between active duty and work at the company, Sheehan said.

“Our employees attend send-off gatherings and return parties for deployed personnel, and send care packages and signed banners to employees stationed overseas,” Sheehan added.
