Ted Girard serves as a area vice president at BMC Software responsible for the U.S. federal sales.
In this role, he defines the vision, strategy and oversees the organization’s execution of sales, services, alliances, contracts, technical support, marketing, customer service and performance across the BMC federal government business worldwide.
Girard joined BMC in 2008 as the director of federal government defense business unit and led the DoD sales team focused on delivering customer business value with the product portfolio offerings.
He developed a comprehensive solution framework that drove his organization to deliver stellar sales results yearly that doubled the company’s defense sales revenue and produced the largest deal in the company’s history. Promoted from there to lead the federal civilian and defense sales organization, he developed strategies for working in the U.S. federal market for continued growth.
He has over 20 years of government and commercial leadership experience in the information technology industry directing channel and direct sales teams working for companies such as Brocade Communications, Xerox Corporation, and Techronix.
Girard has received many sales club leadership awards and recognition for his industry and community contributions in the Washington, D.C. area which include three-time winner of the President’s Club, Chairman’s Circle Awards, Top Sales Manager Awards, and supporter of USO Metro DC.
He is from Rockville, Maryland and is a graduate of John Hopkins University, with a Masters in Business Administration.
