Lockheed Martin will host a cybersecurity exercise this week at its Hanover, Md. facility for military academies to test their skills against National Security Agency personnel.

The company and NSA built a private network to link the U.S. and Canadian academies to the Hanover facility for the exercise, Lockheed said Monday.

“Cybersecurity is at the core of all we do, so each year we are inspired by these innovative students as they face challenges from veteran NSA experts,” said Darrell Durst, vice president of cyber solutions for Lockheed’s information systems and global solutions business.

“The students tackle the same types of threats our nation faces daily in cybersecurity,” Durst said.

This is the 11th consecutive year the company has hosted the exercise as Lockheed also hosted it last year.
