Raytheon-logo_EbizRaytheon and the Student Veterans of America will award $30,000 in total scholarship grants to three student veterans currently enrolled in a science, technology, engineering and math degree program.

Each veteran will receive $10,000 in scholarship grants and the company and SVA will select recipients who demonstrate leadership in their local communities, Raytheon said Friday.

Scholarship applications will be accepted until July 12 and are funded by a $50,000 grant from Raytheon, presented in November 2012.

“Student veterans have the potential to usher in a new generation of American progress and to address some of our nation’s most pressing needs, especially in the STEM fields,” said Michael Dakduk, SVA executive director.

SVA was founded in 2008 and comprises of more than 800 student veteran organizations at colleges around the world.
