Raytheon Recognizing STEM Volunteers

Raytheon-logo_EbizRaytheon will hold a series of volunteering events between April 21 and April to honor employees who have spent nearly 400,000 hours of their personal time for volunteer projects during the past two years.

The company is participating in National Volunteer Week to feature contributions of its employees to individuals and organizations, Raytheon said Thursday.

During the week, volunteers will join events in different locations across the country and aim to support math and science education of students, education for veterans and initiatives in local communities.

In Alexandria, Va., employees based in the Washington area will hold science experiments as part of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology’s Techstravaganza event during the week.

Raytheon will also send volunteers to events in Portsmouth, R.I.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Los Angeles and Boston to promote careers in the science, technology, engineering and math fields.

Some organizations supported by Raytheon employees include The Boys & Girls Club, FIRST Robotics, Student Veterans of America, Wounded Warrior Project and other local community organizations worldwide.
