Rockwell logo_GovConExecutiveRockwell Collins has received top honors at the Edison Award’s safety category for a technology that allowed pilots to fly an aircraft despite low visibility conditions.

Rockwell Collins was given the award during the 26th Edison Awards award ceremony April 25 at Navy Pier, Chicago, Ill, the company said Tuesday.

The synthetic vision on a heads-up display, currently used in Rockwell Collin’s pro line fusion integrated avionics system, was chosen by 3,000 business executives picked by the non-profit Edison Universe.

Edison Awards executive director Frank Bonafilia said the award’s “judges recognized Rockwell Collins’ synthetic vision on a head up display as a true innovator out of the many products in its category.”

The ballot of nominees for the Edison Awards were judged by a panel of more than 3,000 business executives.
