Roderick McLean, Michael Cawood Move Up Lockheed’s Integrated Fighter Group; Orlando Carvalho Comments

LockheedLogoThe Lockheed Martin leadership has named Roderick McLean vice president and general manager of the F-16/F-22 integrated fighter group under its aeronautics division, effective immediately.

McLean most recently served as vice president and program manager of the T-X project after his stint as F-16 deputy vice president and F-16 program director for the Middle East, Southeast Asia and North Africa.

According to Orlando Carvalho, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics executive vice president, both roles helped equip McLean for his new appointment at IFG.

McLean began his career at  Lockheed 19 years ago as a radar systems engineer.

He graduated from North Carolina A&T State University, Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.

In the same announcement Monday, the company said it has promoted Michael Cawood to vice president and IFG deputy program manager.

Carwood used to be vice president for IFG product development, leading a team of industry partners tasked to enhance and sustain the capabilities of the Viper and Raptor aircraft fleets.

He also worked on flight control, program management and technology integration platforms.
