J.T. Grumski, a 16-year veteran of Science Applications International Corp., has joined Houston-based energy technology company TAS Energy as president and CEO.

Former chief executive Craig Hurlbert will continue to serve as chairman of the board and Mike Brady will hold the chief operating officer title after previously serving as president and CEO, TAS said May 6.

TAS Energy says Grumski grew SAIC’s engineering business to more than $1 billion in revenue and its staff to more than 5,000 people.

He also helped lead two SAIC subsidiaries by serving as president of the Benham Companies LLC and chairman of the board for R.W. Beck.

Grumski started his career at Gulf Oil Company in 1980 and has held senior level engineering, operations management and program management positions with Westinghouse Electric and Lockheed Martin.

He has also managed major plant operations, engineering and system integration programs for commercial, utility and federal customers.
