Booz Allen, Nonprofit to Award Vets Cyber Scholarships; Tony Urbanovich Comments

booz allen hamilton logoBooz Allen Hamilton has helped a non-profit charity of (ISC)² implement a project that aims to offer training to retired servicemen for them to work in the cybersecurity sector.

The (ISC)² Foundation intends to award the U.S.A. Cyber Warrior Scholarship to 10 veterans in October this year in recognition of National Cyber Security Awareness month, the organizations said Thursday.

(ISC)² intends for the program to provide military personnel resources to acquire new skills and certifications to help secure the government’s information technology networks and facilities.

“Booz Allen is proud to support a program that benefits our veterans, our industry, and our nation,” said Booz Allen Principal Tony Urbanovich, who will help conduct the scholarship review.

The U.S.A. Cyber Warrior Scholarship is also meant to address the need for cybersecurity workers based on the results of an international research that (ISC)² commissioned and Frost & Sullivan conducted in cooperation with Booz Allen.
