Three DRS Technologies facilities received the James S. Cogswell Award from the Defense Security Service, which goes to less than 1 percent out of more than 13,000 eligible cleared defense contractor facilities

DRS teams being recognized for the award include its Arlington, Va.-based corporate security team, the network and imaging systems team in West Melbourne, Fla. and a third team in Dallas, DRS said Wednesday.

William Lynn, DRS President and CEO, said defense industry companies are responsible for keeping defense facilities secure and helping to ensure the safety of uniformed personnel.

The Cogswell Awards started in 1966 and are intended to recognize facilities that comply with security installations over long-term periods.

Nominations are reserved for facilities that have earned at least two superior industrial security ratings and maintained their security programs.
