J. Michael McGuire to Lead Grant Thornton National Operations as Managing Partner; Stephen Chipman Comments

McGuireJ. Michael McGuire, a Grant Thornton LLP veteran, has been appointed national managing partner for operations.

The appointment is effective August 1 and McGuire succeeds Lou Grabowsky, who will serve as senior adviser as he transitions to his retirement, Grant Thornton said Tuesday.

“Mike’s management of our Carolinas practice and the high-profile, transformational efforts he has led have been vital to our progress as a firm,” said Grant Thornton CEO Stephen Chipman.

Grant thornton logoMcGuire currently chairs the Grant Thornton Foundation and is the national managing partner of markets, industry, people and culture.

He will lead the company’s operating committee in his new role and will continue to manage teams responsible for human resources, sales and marketing.

“Hallmarks of Mike’s leadership are the build out of the firm’s industry program, the successful reinvention of our marketing and sales organization, and the advancement of the firm’s talent and culture agenda,” Chipman added.

Before joining Grant Thornton, McGuire took on roles of increasing responsibility at Arthur Andersen where he worked for 20 years.
