The Boeing Company employees have donated $335,000 to USO Northwest for the construction of a new USONW center at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Center.

The donation from the Employees Community Fund of Boeing Puget Sound will allow USONW to accommodate 10,000 local and traveling military personnel in a 7,000 square foot center, USONW announced Friday.

The donation is the largest single donation to the $1.7 million project to provide service members and their families with food services, sleeping accommodations, relaxation areas and shower facilities.

The new USONW Sea-Tac center is expected to be operational by Spring 2014.

“It’s a great privilege to work with individuals like those with the Employees Community Fund of Boeing Puget Sound who recognize the sacrifices they make,” said Don Leingang, USONW executive director.

The USONW Sea-Tac center has been operational everyday since 1966 and is the most visited USO center.
