Engility Corp. has marked the first anniversary of its spinoff from L-3 Communications and establishment as an independent government contractor.

Since July 2012, the company has won positions on contracts worth more than a combined $14 billion and received recognition from the National Veteran Small Business Coalition since July 2012, Engility said Thursday.

The Chantilly, Va.-based pure play government services contractor recently donated $25,000 to the Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund to commemorate the anniversary and support the government employees it works with every day.

Engility was also recognized in April for executing the Greatest Regional Impact Deal of the Year by the Association for Corporate Growth and was included in Washington Technology magazine’s list of the top 100 government contractors.

To celebrate the milestone, Engiliy said it will also donate to the National Military Family Association and CARE.

“In 12 months, we have created a new business model for delivering specialized technology and mission expertise to our government partners,” said Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility president and CEO.

“Our projects range from small teams supporting specific technology research and analysis to more extensive, leading-edge policy and operational implementation,” he added.
