LMI Adds 7th University to Joint R&D Program

LMI_logoLMI has added University of Texas at San Antonio to a scholastic program that aims to encourage joint research and development initiatives for the cybersecurity and energy sectors.

Seven universities now work with LMI under the Academic Partnerships program, which launched in 2011, LMI said Monday.

LMI will work with institutes under the UTSA on new and existing studies and provide students relevant training and job opportunities.

Nelson Ford, LMI president and CEO, and UTSA President Ricardo Romo signed an agreement to formalize the partnership Friday at LMI’s headquarters  ceremony held at the company’s headquarters on Friday.

LMI, the Texas Sustainable Energy Research Institute and the Institute for Cyber Security will work together to create partnerships between UTSA faculty and LMI experts and to apply academic skills for technology.

The organizations will also conduct joint research, work to develop talent and promote LMI and its mission to faculty and students.
