The Louis Berger Group has finished drafting a new aircraft parking plan for the Morristown Municipal Airport ahead of an anticipated increase in travelers during next year’s Super Bowl.
The plan is designed to allow the airport to accommodate a larger number of aircrafts overnight in February, when Super Bowl XLVIII is held at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., LBG said Thursday.
“(The Federal Aviation Administration Eastern Region) reached out to us for a quick two-week turnaround on a plan to ease the congestion that increased traffic the Super Bowl is likely to cause,” said Marc Champigny, LBG director for U.S. aviation.
According to LBG, the FAA Eastern Region will use the company’s parking plan as a blueprint for other airports expecting future Super Bowl-related aircraft traffic.
