Northrop Sponsors San Diego Intervention Program for Veterans; Jim Zortman Comments

northrop-Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman sponsored a community intervention program from July 12 to 14 in San Diego, Calif., for homeless veterans and their families.

The 26th Veterans Village of San Diego Stand Down aimed to help 829 former military service members regain their jobs, Northrop said Thursday.

Jim Zortman, sector vice president and site manager for an unmanned systems center of excellence, said the company aims to assist active military and veterans through the VVSD and its own organization Operation Impact.

The VVSD pilot event happened in 1988 and served more than 650 veterans, Northrop said.

More than 200 such events take place per year across the country.
