Selex ES Concludes Electronic Warfare Training for Kuwait Air Force; Ramie Smith Comments

Selex ESSelex ES, a Finmeccanica subsidiary, has concluded a program that aims to guide the Kuwait Air Force on how to develop and handle components of Apache helicopters.

The goal of the six-month course was to provide soldiers with skills to improve the electronic warfare operational support of the armed forces, Selex ES said Monday.

The company intends to supply the Arab nation with sets of mission data upon completion of the training to kick start an evaluation of the military’s EW capabilities.

Ramie Smith, Selex ES EWOS vice president, said an objective of the knowledge transfer was to help the Kuwait Air Force manage their equipment and resources for future countermeasures against potential threats.

Participants of the training at a Selex ES facility were given the opportunity to explore and handle HIDAS EW equipment mounted on Apache aircraft.

The company says it recently sent an EW expert to assist the Kuwait Air Force for a 12-month period.
