Chuck Hollis, formerly EMC’s global marketing chief technology officer, has assumed the role of chief strategist for a new business unit of the company’s VMware subsidiary, SiliconANGLE.com reported Tuesday.
Maria Deutscher writes he intends to apply his computing and information technology background to support the storage application services division, which focuses on network integration and data storage.
Hollis, an 18-year EMC veteran, aims to help VMware develop big data cloud computing products for software-defined memory systems.
Deutscher reports the appointment of Hollis comes a few months after both Chief Marketing Officer Rick Jackson and Stephen Herrod, CTO and senior vice president, left VMware.
