LGS Innovations has awarded scholarships worth $2,500 each to four Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps students in honor of Ronald Iverson, the company’s first chief executive.
Each AFCEA Lieutenant General Ronald Iverson ROTC Scholarship is paid annually to recipients that are college sophomores or junior cadets in a ROTC program, LGS said Tuesday.
The company helped start the scholarship program in 2012 with a donation to the AFCEA Educational Foundation in recognition of Iverson’s retirement from LGS, which he led between 2007 and 2012.
“LGS created this scholarship in partnership with AFCEA to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education as well as recognize ROTC cadets who demonstrate exemplary leadership, dedication, patriotism, and selflessness,” said Kevin Kelly, LGS CEO.
Scholarship recipients for this year are:
- Callan Elizabeth Andreacchi, a junior at Elon University
- Carol Ann Knight, a sophomore at the University of North Carolina
- Christopher Logan McConnell, a sophomore at Worcester Polytechnic Institute
- Ashley Nicole Zapp, a junior at the University of South Carolina
“LGS Innovations congratulates these cadets on their accomplishments and looks forward to seeing these future leaders realize their full potential,” Kelly said.
