Parsons Hosts Student Interns Under Public Works Board Program; Dave Goodrich Comments

Parsons2Parsons has hosted middle and high school students under a Los Angeles Board of Public Works initiative that aims to expose students to working environments in fields of architecture, construction and engineering.

Four interns spent five weeks at the company’s Pasadena headquarters and sought go gain hands-on experience of operations in different departments, Parsons said Thursday.

The interns were allowed to utilize a social media-based business platform to exchange ideas as they worked on a project intended to grow their skills in three-dimensional graphic design and software development.

“We hope that our employees have inspired these young people to become scientists or engineers as a result of their time spent at Parsons,” said Dave Goodrich, corporate vice president of talent management.

The Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce first introduced the company to the PWHip program in 2007, four years after it launched.
