Bechtel volunteers in India are working with the Engineers Without Borders- India to utilize solar energy in a project that intends to provide electricity to 3,500 citizens in a village just outside New Delhi.
The lighting project is funded by Bechtel to provide solar-powered LED fixtures and related infrastructure in Sirohi, New Delhi, Bechtel announced Sept. 2.
Now on the third phase, the Bechtel volunteers and other partners have completed the lighting for 200 homes in the village.
Bechtel volunteers worked with the EWB-India’s student chapters at Delhi Technological University and the National Power Training Institute for the Sirohi project.
THe goal of the project is to provide light for more than 350 homes in the village.
