Dennis Swanson was named the new vice president of Boeing India’s defense, space and security business unit.

Swanson will be based in New Delhi and be responsible for building customer relationships and in-country partnerships, Boeing said Friday.

The 16-year company veteran has helped Boeing in its international expansion initiatives and establishing relationships in India, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

“India has important security requirements that Boeing is helping to address, and Swanson’s experience in this country and around the globe will be an asset in meeting those goals” said Chris Raymond, a Boeing vice president of business development and strategy.

Swanson has led industrial participation programs in the Middle East and Africa.
