Lockheed to Search for Int’l Cybersecurity Tech Business Opportunities; Cliff Spier Comments

LockheedLogoLockheed Martin and the U.S. Commerce Department have joined forces on a mission to find new market opportunities for cybersecurity and infrastructure protection technology in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Francisco Sanchez, U.S. undersecretary of commerce for international trade, leads the initiative with the goal of introducing U.S. companies to high-level Middle Eastern government officials and potential private-sector partners, Lockheed said Wednesday.

Cliff Spier, vice president of Lockheed’s information systems and global solutions business, the company works to help defense, education, healthcare and energy organizations detect and mitigate cyber risks.

The trade mission is part of the Obama administration’s national export program that aims to double the country’s exports by the end of next year.

Saudi Arabia has invested more than $9 billion in expanding airports and Kuwait has set aside $28.2 billion for upgrading infrastructure.

Lockheed designed an intelligence-based technology for customers to protect their networks and critical systems from attacks.
