Mark White, who joined SAP in 2002 and helped start up the conglomerate’s SAP National Security Services subsidiary, has been appointed general manager of the global public services and healthcare industries.
White will lead a team that works on public service issues such as urbanization and access to education and access to healthcare as public sector organizations face budget pressures and resource limitations, SAP said Monday.
“Just as IT has moved to the heart of public service and healthcare delivery, these industries — always strategic to us — are now at the heart of SAP’s brand and agenda,” said Simon Paris, SAP’s head of strategic industries.
The public services and healthcare team will offer cloud computing, hosted and on-premise technology to customers.
White most recently served as chief financial officer for SAP’s global customer operactions business and led its legal, real estate and pricing and contracts areas.
He first joined the company as CFO of the Americas region after serving as senior vice president and corporate controller at Lucent Technologies.
The more than three-decade IT veteran also held roles at Cadence Design Systems and Unisys.
