Robert Mao Nominated First HP China Chairman

HPLogoRobert Mao, a 40-year telecommunications industry veteran, has been nominated the first chairman for Hewlett-Packard‘s China business as the company aims to boost its market presence there, MENAFN.com reported Friday.

Mao was formally nominated on Aug. and will report directly to HP CEO and President Meg Whitman if confirmed.

Prior to joining HP, the Taiwan citizen served as CEO of 3Com.

MENAFN.com reports Mao will be responsible for helping form HP’s strategic plans to increase sales and grow its position in the Chinese and other international markets.
