Raytheon Awards STEM Scholarships to 40 Students

Raytheon-logoRaytheon has awarded this year’s round of scholarships under its For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology Robotics program.

The $1,000 grants were given to individuals majoring in science, technology, engineering and math in college, Raytheon said Monday.

This year’s 40 recipients participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition and Tech Challenge contests and come from more than 20 states.

Since its 2003 inception, the company has given $400,000 in Raytheon-FIRST Robotics Scholarship grants.

Applications for the next scholarship cycle will start on April 1, 2014.
