AT&T has joined the London-based International M2M Council, which aims to promote the use of machine-to-machine communications worldwide.
The company will work to help the council on its first project to develop a library of M2M content such as case studies, available solutions and industry best practices, the council announced Tuesday.
“We see the IMC as another opportunity to help educate businesses about how M2M solutions can help to transform their business,” said Mobeen Khan, AT&T Business Solutions executive director of advanced mobility solutions.
Khan was elected to the council’s board of directors.
The council also intends to inform stakeholders about the “Internet of Things” and on the future of connectivity applications in fields such as home security, smart grid, mobile healthcare, mobile supply chain logistics and more.
Other members of the organizations include Oracle, Telit Wireless Solutions, Deutsche Telekom, Digi International and Kore Telematics.
