Kelsey Koenen writes that Carlson will succeed Candace Duncan, who has announced her retirement from the firm after a 35-year career.
Duncan has led Washington operations since 2009, when the firm had nearly 1,550 employees in the region.
“It’s one of the most important markets in our firm, because of the presence in this community, the size of this market and the opportunities for growth,” Carlson told the Business Journal.
Prior to this appointment, Carlson served as managing partner of KPMG’s St. Louis auditing practice.
