John Hillman has joined Parsons Corp. as leader of the bridge practice and will oversee the company’s pursuits and execution of complex and major bridge projects.
The 27-year industry veteran, has worked on various multidisciplinary bridge and civil works projects such as the 35th Street Pedestrian Suspension Bridge in Chicago, Parsons said Monday.
Hillman provided the winning entry in an international design competition for the bridge and served as project manager and also served as conceptual designer, project manager and engineer of record for the Hollow Arch Bridge in Danville, Ill.
He is a recipient of the White House’s Transportation Champion for Change award and the Engineering News-Record’s 2010 Award of Excellence.
Hillman has helped design and build segmental concrete bridges that were raised by cable-stayed construction, incremental launching, span-by-span construction and balance cantilever construction.
