LexisNexis, Intrado Unveil Public Records Access Tool; Matt Harcourt Comments

LexisNexisLexisNexis and Intrado have jointly developed a cloud-based multi-platform tool that will provide first responders with access to billions of public records regarding people, locations, vehicles and properties that are related to a specific 911 call.

The Intrado Beware software will be demonstrated at the 120th Annual International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference and Law Enforcement Education and Technology Exposition on Oct. 19 to 23 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pa., LexisNexis announced Tuesday.

“Traditionally, first responders, call takers and dispatchers rely on local, state and federal records management databases as their main source for person, vehicle and other information,” said Steve Lowe, Intrado senior vice president and general manager.

“Beware provides access to massive amounts of commercial data not previously available to them. Beware is unique in that it searches billions of data points; scores the results for potential threats; and presents the data as informational headlines a responder can use to make a difference in the outcome of a situation,” he added.

The new offering will aggregate, correlate and present recorded data related to the 911 call through a patent-pending algorithm.

The data will be presented, with threat scores, headlines and “Be Aware” headlines on a web-based format.

“We have been providing public safety investigators highly detailed reports for some time and this new solution extends our reach,” said Matt Harcourt LexisNexis VP of alliances.

“Intrado’s Beware platform effectively scores and deciphers LexisNexis information, which can then be used in the active Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) and first responder environment,” he added.
