Mark DeWitt, Triple Canopy vice president and deputy general counsel, has joined the board of directors of a newly formed association for the promotion of responsible security services and upholding human rights.

DeWitt will join the newly formed International Code of Conduct Association, a multi-stakeholder association of 135 industry members from the public and private sector, Triple Canopy announced Sept. 30.

The board, formed on Sept. 20, will also promote national and international law compliance based on the International Code of Conduct for private security service providers.

DeWitt said the organization was a joint effort between key governments, the civil society, Human Rights First and Human Rights Watch.

Triple Canopy said that DeWitt has served as an ICoC temporary steering committee member for three years, the committee that developed and created the ICoCA.
