An Exelis subsidiary has been selected by Woodside Energy Ltd. to implement an enterprise communications system at a gas plant in western Australia that is intended to operate for 10 years.
Exelis C4i designed its SwitchplusIP system to help users communicate through technologies such as mobile, land-based or Voice over Internet Protocol, Exelis announced Monday.
SwitchplusIP is also built to be fault-tolerant and equipped with network redundancy tools in an effort to ensure high availability, minimum downtime and round-the-clock access to communication assets.
“We see opportunities for growth in this market as our technology allows for the future migration to digital radio technologies and the ongoing integration of newer, more mobile applications,” said Peter Harrison, Exelis C4i managing director.
“As a leading provider of critical network solutions to customers around the world, our goal is to provide a technology that improves workflow efficiencies, security and safety,” Harrison.
Woodside Energy operates facilities for the North West Shelf Project, Australia’s largest oil and gas resource development initiative.
