Inmarsat has selected Atlanta-based wireless service provider KORE to serve as the satellite telecommunications company’s machine-to-machine distribution partner.
KORE will provide its users with one SIM card from Inmarsat as part of the Global Connect network portfolio, the company announced Nov. 14.
Ronald Spithout, Inmarsat Enterprise president, said the companies formed the partnership to help manage the growing role of satellite communications within M2M.
Under the agreement, KORE M2M users will have access to Inmarsat chipsets embedded into devices with the goal of eliminating requirements for additional equipment and 0switching between cellular and satellite connections.
