Lynxnet Wins $2M to Modernize DISA Network

akimaLynxnet LLC has won a $1.7 million contract to provide the Defense Information Services Administration‘s defense switching network with network capacity expansion and replacement of the Wide Area Network Softswitch.

Under the contract, Lynxnet will install and integrate media gateway equipment with replace existing WAN-SS components, Lynxnet announced Nov. 8.

Lynxnet will also provide project management, logistics and Avaya AS5300 Softswitch to EF&I Softswitch components at DISA sites at Camp Foster, Okinawa; RAF Croughton, United Kingdom; Aviano, Italy; two sites in Hawaii at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and NCTAMS Wahiawa.

The WAN-SS technology refresh is also intended to increase DISA Unified Capabilities mission capabilities and replace obsolete systems.
