MITRE Partners with Int’l Flight Organization on Aviation Analytics Safety Initiatives; Kevin Hiatt Comments

Mitre logoMITRE and the Flight Safety Foundation are collaborating to develop analytics offerings for data sharing and aviation issues around the world.

The two organizations announced the partnership at the International Aviation Safety Symposium and will work with regulators, air navigation service providers and operators in the endeavor, according to a MITRE statement.

“This is one more opportunity for collaboration on data collection, analysis and sharing,” said Kevin Hiatt, FSF President and CEO.

“We have regions of the world that have not been exposed to this type of process. With FSF’s international reach and MITRE’s data analysis, we’ll have a tool that can be used to reduce the risk of accidents and incidents,” he added.

The two organizations are attempting to create offerings that analyze diverse types of data to spot potential systemic vulnerabilities that could elevate safety risks.
