Report: Private Sector Added 204K Jobs in October

 department-of-labor-300x300The Labor Department estimates that businesses in the U.S. added about 204,000 jobs in October, the Longview, Texas News-Journal reported Saturday.

Lynne Sladky writes that the department also found unemployment rose to 7.3 percent from 7.2 percent but cited furloughs of federal employees during the 16-day shutdown as the likely reason for the increase.

Service companies and factory activities also increased, according to the report.
