State Education Alliance Picks DDN for Storage, Collaboration Tools; Jeff Denworth Comments

ITphotoThe Sunshine State Education & Research Computing Alliance has selected DataDirect Networks to provide an object storage software that is intended to facilitate collaboration in Florida’s research community.

DDN will deploy its Web Object Scaler solution for the alliance with the goal of building a storage ecosystem to manage large volumes of big data, DDN said Wednesday.

Jeff Denworth, DDN vice president of marketing, said the company aims to help SSERCA fulfill its research mission to help dispersed teams store, access, analyze and share complex data

Alliance members such as the University of Miami, Florida International University, University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, University of Florida and Florida State University will use the software to search, retrieve and archive information stored in a web-based data repository.
