The company is collaborating with non-profit organization DataKind to help other non-governmental and non-profit organizations with tools intended to address strategic data concerns, Teradata said Tuesday.

“Teradata is honored to be recognized by the White House for our focus on data philanthropy,” said Sherri Morgan, community relations director at Teradata.

Morgan added, “Our data philanthropy initiative is a way for Teradata to use our resources and capabilities in giving back to society.”

The data analytics solutions company will sponsor a DataKind event in New York City this weekend to help Amnesty International, Crisis Textline and the United Nations Global Pulse.

“Teradata is helping DataKind bring some of industry’s top data analytics talent together to address society’s greatest challenges,” said Jake Porway, DataKind founder and executive director.

“More importantly, Teradata is helping us foster a global conversation about the importance of using data science and working in concert with leading mission-driven organizations,” he added.
