The United Technologies Research Center accepted the award from R&D Magazine, which recognizes the 100 most innovative technologies introduced into the marketplace during the past year, UTC said Thursday.

“It is gratifying to see a UTRC breakthrough concept publicly lauded through a respected industry forum that has served research scientists, engineers and laboratory technical staff around the world for more than 50 years,” said David Parekh, UTRC vice president of research and director.

The platform can be re-sized for grid-scale applications and customized to meet customers’ power output and energy capacity requirements, UTC says.
