Dell-Backed Grants to Support Youth IT Education Programs

Dell - ExecutiveMosaicDell will sponsor about $2.4 million in grants for 26 organizations as part of efforts to help educate underprivileged youth, T.H.E. Journal reported Monday.

Leila Meyer reports the grants are for initiatives that work to provide technology access to children and teenagers; develop information and communication technology-related skills; and to support science, technology, engineering and math education.

Dell told the publication that the organizations were selected for efforts to help students develop ICT skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and technology literacy.

According to the report, the grants will be handed out to organizations in 11 states and that support about 27,000 children.
