In his dual chief information and chief technology officer roles, Brian Neely acts as chief architect of technology and information management systems at Chantilly, Va.-based AMERICAN SYSTEMS.
Neely holds 20 years of combined experience in operational and strategic planning, including seven years of developing his business management skills with a technology company.
The company has singled out his positive impacts on acquisition activity, growth and sustainable development.
Neely previously spent six years as a C-level executive with a progressive technology organization, is certified in Lean Six Sigma and is an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania’s esteemed Wharton School of Business. He has also earned certifications in management and leadership and strategy and innovation at MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
At AMERICAN SYSTEMS, Neely focuses this experience on increasing IT efficiency, innovation, awareness and agility.
Neely has spent more than 15 years in the professional IT world and remains active in the technology community. Neely graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Virginia Tech and holds a masters’ degree in IT from the Heinz School of Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University, graduating summa cum laude.
Other technological achievements include a CIO certification from CMU and the Federal CIO Council and a chief information security officer certification from Carnegie Mellon’s Cyber Security Lab, CyLab.
He is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
