FireEye CEO David DeWalt Speaks to CSIS About Cyber Threats

David DeWalt, FireEye Inc. board chairman and CEO, has delivered the keynote address at a Center for Strategic and International Studies event.

DeWalt spoke about the preliminary cybersecurity framework developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology on Dec. 5 from noon to 2 p.m. ET, FireEye said Thursday.

DeWalt also discussed the company’s findings using advanced tactics and techniques about cyber threats.

Some of the methodologies used in the research are zero-day exploits and never-seen before malware to target companies that handle the grid.

DeWalt also touched on improving a cybersecurity framework for better protection against sophisticated cyber attacks.

CSIS is a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C., formed in 1962 to “sustain American prominence and prosperity as a force for good in the world,” FireEye said.
