IBM and U.K.-based Lancaster University have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on technology research, curriculum development and placement programs, the Scan student newspaper reported Thursday.
Marketa Lapackova writes the partnership was formed so IBM could help the public research university develop courses to educate student about enterprise platforms and smart infrastructures.
The alliance will also explore research opportunities related to big data, business analytics and cybersecurity, Lapackova reports.
“IBM shares many of our goals and both organisations are deeply focused on developing cultures of innovation,” Mark Smith, Lancaster University’s vice chancellor, told the university publication.
