After a year of planning, Raytheon has opened an interactive traveling exhibit in a museum at the United Arab Emirates that intends to promote mathematics in the region, the Khaleej Times reported Dec. 20.
The exhibition, launched Nov. 15 in Abu Dhabi, will move next to Ras Al Khaimah, in the northern part of the UAE. Ahmed Shaaban writes that the MathAlive! Exhibition will be featured at the Sharjah Science Museum until Jan. 12, 2014 and will travel throughout the Middle East over the next five years.
“I hope the hands-on interactive exhibit brings the magic of math to life and helps inspire the next generation of students to pursue math and science-related technology careers,” said Matt Riddle, president of Raytheon International.
“The about 40 different scientific and mathematic experiences being exhibited here attracted over 150,000 students at the Science Festival in Abu Dhabi back in November,” Robert Kock, Raytheon vice president told Khaleej Times.
