Robert Half Technology projects 67 percent of chief information officers plan to hire people only for open information technology roles in the first half of 2014, five percent higher than figures for the prior year period, Nextgov reported Friday.
Brittany Ballenstedt writes that the 2014 IT Hiring Forecast also found that 83 percent of the 2,300 surveyed CIOs plan to hire staff in the first half of the incoming year.
About 16 percent of the planned hiring is projected to be fore adding more staff to CIO departments, according to the report.
Fifteen percent of CIOs reported plans to freeze hiring and two percent said they planned to cut IT staff, Ballenstedt reports.
